Full Time, Temporary
NDT Inspector
Belgium, Netherlands
Job Description
A Welding NDT Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and compliance of welded components and structures across a wide range of industries. Using non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, the inspector evaluates welds for flaws, discontinuities, and defects that could compromise performance or safety, without causing damage to the materials.
The primary responsibilities include conducting inspections using techniques such as ultrasonic testing (UT), radiographic testing (RT), magnetic particle testing (MT), liquid penetrant testing (PT), and visual inspection (VT). The Welding NDT Inspector prepares equipment, reviews welding specifications, interprets technical drawings, and carries out tests to verify that welds meet established industry codes, standards, and client requirements. Accurate documentation of inspection results and the preparation of detailed reports are also essential parts of the role.
In addition to performing inspections, the Welding NDT Inspector collaborates with engineers, quality managers, and production teams to provide feedback and recommend corrective actions when defects are identified. By maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols and quality control procedures, the inspector helps prevent costly failures and ensures that welded structures perform as intended in critical applications such as oil and gas pipelines, power plants, aerospace components, and heavy infrastructure projects.
Key skills for success include a strong understanding of welding processes, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and effective communication skills. Certification in relevant NDT methods (such as ISO 9712, PCN, or ASNT Level II/III) is typically required, along with practical experience in welding inspection.
This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects while contributing directly to the safety and quality of vital industries in the Netherlands and Belgium.
