NDT Radiographer

Belgium, Netherlands

An NDT Radiographer is responsible for using radiographic techniques to examine materials, welds, and components for internal flaws that may affect safety, reliability, and performance. By applying non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, the radiographer identifies cracks, porosity, inclusions, or other discontinuities without compromising the integrity of the tested item. This role is essential in industries where quality assurance and safety standards are critical, such as oil and gas, aerospace, power generation, construction, and manufacturing.

The main duties include setting up and operating radiographic equipment, preparing materials for inspection, and positioning radiation sources to capture precise images. The radiographer interprets radiographic films or digital images, evaluates results against industry codes and client specifications, and documents findings in clear and accurate reports. Strict adherence to radiation safety regulations and compliance with local, national, and international standards is a fundamental aspect of the role.

In addition to technical expertise, the NDT Radiographer works closely with engineers, quality managers, and project supervisors to provide reliable inspection results and advise on corrective measures when defects are detected. The ability to work effectively both independently and within a team is important, particularly on large-scale industrial projects where deadlines and safety requirements are critical.

Key qualifications include certification in radiographic testing (such as ISO 9712, PCN, or ASNT Level II/III), knowledge of radiation safety practices, and experience in conducting inspections in industrial environments. Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and communication skills are essential to ensure accurate interpretation and reporting.

This role provides the opportunity to work on diverse projects that demand precision and responsibility, contributing directly to the integrity and safety of vital infrastructure and equipment in Netherlands and Belgium.
